The Ghana High Commission in London has launched a five-day trade mission to the United Kingdom aimed at promoting the country’s garments and textiles sector.
The event, which runs from 29 September to 4 October, is being organised in collaboration with the UK-Ghana Chamber of Commerce and the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
The roadshow brings together Ghanaian designers, textile manufacturers and trade officials to engage with UK investors, buyers and institutions. It forms part of Ghana’s broader plan to diversify exports and strengthen value-added industries under its National Export Development Strategy.

High Commissioner-designate Sabah Zita Benson welcomed the delegation at the opening session, describing garments and textiles as central to Ghana’s industrial transformation and export competitiveness.
During the week, the delegation will meet with financial and trade institutions including Ghana International Bank, British International Investment, the FCDO and Intertek UK. The talks are expected to cover financing, market access, compliance standards and sustainable production.
The programme also includes visits to UK fashion and textile hubs such as Kazareen Textile Group, Not Just Clothing and Fashion Enter University, with a focus on ethical sourcing, circular fashion and technical training.
Ghanaian designers will also showcase their collections at Africa Week UK’s fashion event at Woolwich Works, targeting buyers, diaspora investors and partners.
Officials say the initiative reflects Ghana’s ambition to position itself as a hub for sustainable textile production while deepening commercial and cultural links with the UK.
