ACCRA — Residents of Jamestown kicked off 2026 with a spirit of giving as musician Bapi Joss partnered with international skincare brand Hanahana beauty to distribute food and essential products to women and children in the historic neighborhood.

“Started the year off at Jamestown! Thank you to everyone who showed up to help make this food drive successful,” Joss said following the event, which drew significant community participation.

The initiative provided much-needed support to local families, combining food assistance with personal care products donated by hanahana beauty, a consciously clean skincare brand whose mission centers on humanizing the beauty space.

The collaboration highlights a growing trend of beauty and wellness brands engaging directly with communities in need, while local organizers continue their work addressing food insecurity in Greater Accra’s coastal neighborhoods.

Jamestown, one of Accra’s oldest districts, has long been a focus for community development initiatives. The success of Saturday's food drive signals what organizers hope will be continued partnership between local leaders and corporate supporters throughout the new year.

Community members interested in supporting future initiatives can follow updates from the organizers on social media.
