Mahama Commissions Solar-Powered ICT Centre in Damongo

Accra Evening News

President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned the Mahama ICT Centre in Damongo, describing the facility as a significant complement to government’s BSTEM programme.

Addressing guests at the commissioning ceremony, the President stated that the centre would strengthen practical teaching and learning in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, with particular emphasis on information and communications technology following the rollout of the BSTEM initiative in the region.

He expressed satisfaction that the facility operates entirely on solar energy, describing it as a “green lab” in line with global sustainable development objectives.

President Mahama further noted that the establishment of the centre reflects government’s broader commitment to equipping young Ghanaians with the technological skills required for national development and participation in the modern digital economy.
